Estonia votes to remove Soviet statue

Is this what happens to art when its no longer in vogue? Makes you wonder about all the Roman, Greek, Egyptian, etc. statues out there and what was taken down.

Estonian lawmakers on Thursday narrowly approved a bill calling for the removal of a Soviet war memorial from their capital, ignoring Moscow's warning of "irreversible consequences" for relations between the two countries....

Do take this with a gain of salt... here is a comment by my cousin's wife who is from Estonia. "Yea...this is certanly something that there is always disagreement and people
have different oppinions about. I guess how many people see this and why most of
the people in Estonis want this to be removed is because Soviet Union occupied
Estonia and commited lot of crimes towrds Estonian people. This statue is
supposed to represent Soviet soldiers who freed Estonia...which is far from
truth...so many people feel this statue is offensive and unappropriate.
I guess many people outside Estonia see this differently, but for Estonian
people this is how it is. It will take many generations to feel indifferent
about this subject.
I guess it is not such of a big deal, but I certanly think this statue should be
moved to museum. And this is what they are doing...they will not destroy
it...it's place is in museum as a piece of art.
So, that what I think :)"
